Judging by the Suicide Squad trailer and crazy interviews with his cast mates, it’s no secret that Jared Leto took his Joker performance very seriously. He went all in! Leto is also in the lead vocalist in the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, and made an appearance at Dubai Music Week this weekend. There he teased just how awesome his Joker performance is going to be.
During a fan Q&A at Dubai Music Week, Leto was threatened… by a fan wearing a Batman shirt of all things! Leto laughed it off though, with his creepy Joker laugh, of course. The National has a recap of what happened next:
And to the wise-guy who turned up in a Batman shirt? “You’re really brave,” deadpanned Leto, before letting out a deranged laugh, referencing his upcoming role as The Joker in Suicide Squad. “I can’t wait for you to see this – they’re going to lock me away in a box after this movie comes out.”
Suicide Squad wrapped up filming in Toronto last month. Earlier this week, director David Ayer shared a picture on Twitter at Warner Bros. Studios, which means the editing process is underway!
Now we just have to wait until August 5, 2016 to see just how Jared Leto’s performance as the Joker really is.
