That ‘Batman v Superman’ Doomsday interview you read? It never happened

The internet is a crazy place. Yesterday I got email after email, tweet after tweet, about a new interview with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice production designer Patrick Tatopoulos. Apparently he talked a lot about Doomsday. There’s just one problem… it never happened! It was a fake interview that spread all through the internet. Let me explain…

This interview, said to come from the French website Première, was first posted to a website called Cosmic Book News. A website that’s not known for being very reliable. A website that I’ve never used as a source here on Batman News. They posted an English translated version of a French interview, and then it spread around the internet like crazy. It even got back to Première, who had no knowledge of this interview that supposedly came from them:

While everyone was freaking out over this “interview”, I was doing my homework. The kind of detective work that Batman would be proud of. I just wanted to see the original interview, in French, to verify that it actually existed. Of course I’d never find it, because it wasn’t real! An unreliable website ran something without verifying it, and then all the other legit websites followed suit.

Things are different here on Batman News. This isn’t my job. It’s my hobby, and I love it! I don’t run the site for the money or for clicks. I run it for all of you — the fans. That’s why I’m very picky as to which sources I use here on Batman News, and which stories I post.

The moral of the story here is don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Especially when it comes to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and all of the other DCEU movies. Make Batman News your #1 source for that, because I won’t steer you wrong!
