In late 2014 we heard that Warner Bros. and television network TNT were working on a live-action Teen Titans show that would star Nightwing. Then last year we got an update on the project, with details about the main characters. Unfortunately the project has hit a roadblock.
Today at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, TNT president Kevin Reilly revealed that the network decided to pass on Titans. “We just decided it wasn’t quite where we wanted to go,” he said.
It’s unclear if Warner Bros. will shop the show around to different networks, or if the project is completely dead. The Hollywood Reporter has a description of the show:
Based on characters from DC Comics, Titans revolves around a group of young superheroes-to-be who are recruited from every corner of the DC universe. The action-themed drama centers on Dick Grayson, who emerges from the shadow of Batman to become Nightwing, the leader of a fearless band of new superheroes including Starfire, Raven and more. The show is described as a dramatic adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book titles ever.
