Zack Snyder was on Conan last night to premiere a new clip from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but they also talked about the movie as well. A big topic of discussion was the new Batmobile, and Conan wanted to know how it was different than the previous ones.
“You’ve seen the Chris Nolan Batman movies? The Tumbler, they re-purposed a military vehicle. The cool thing about our Batmobile is it’s purpose built by Bruce Wayne to be the Batmobile, which allows it to be slightly bat-ier,” Snyder explained.
Snyder also spoke about how fragile it is, which you wouldn’t think just by looking at it. It’s a real car that’s meant to be driven, but when the prop team learned that Superman had to stand on the hood as we saw in the new clip, they freaked out! Apparently it wasn’t built for that kind of weight. “They had to reinforce it and fill it with foam,” Snyder said.
