Chris Pine took a break from shooting Wonder Woman in London to stop by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. And while he couldn’t say much about the movie, he did explain how Wonder Woman is different than all of the male lead superhero movies that have come before it.
“I feel like with men at the helm it’s always this revenge cycle thing. It’s an ‘eye for an eye’. We’re going to go get the bad guys, and the bad guys are defeated. What I think is really lovely having a woman at the helm of something like this, is just by virtue of her being a woman, there’s a great deal of more compassion and love at the center of the story, which for something as big as a film as this is going to be, and with kind of eyes that will watch it, I think it’s wonderful. The little bit that we can do to hopefully inch this universe towards something not as aggressive and violent as this world can be.”
Kimmel also tried his best to get Pine to talk about Wonder Woman’s invisible jet, but he dodged most of the questions. Check out the full video interview above for more!
