Tom King signs exclusive deal with DC Comics

Earlier today, it was announced that fan-favorite writer Tom King has signed an exclusive contract with DC, making the publisher his official home for the foreseeable future.

King, who is best known for helming Grayson with Tim Seeley, is also head writer of Omega Men, the Vertigo title Sheriff of Babylon, and the main Robin War installments.

In King’s own words:

To me, DC is Superman. DC is Batman. DC is Wonder Woman. DC is Swamp Thing, The Dark Knight Returns, Watchmen, All Star Superman, The New 52 and The Court of Owls.  DC is where the great comics get made. I’m honored and proud to be part of that tradition, and I’m going to do my best to deliver my best work ever. I can’t wait for people to see what’s coming.

In the release it is also noted that King will be a major player in the upcoming Rebirth event, which should have more details soon.

Also exclusive to DC are up and coming artists Clay Mann and John Timms.  Mann has been contributing interiors to the miniseries Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death, while Timms has provided pencils for various Harley Quinn books.
