A major issue that critics had with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was that it was too dark and wasn’t “fun”. According to a new report from Birth.Movies.Death, Suicide Squad won’t have that problem.
Birth.Movies.Death’s source says that Warner Bros. is reshooting some of Suicide Squad right now. Big reshoots too. This is going to cost them tens of millions of dollars. The purpose of the reshoots are to add more humor and lightness to the movie.
El Mayimbe backed up this report, and says the reshoots are taking place on the Paramount lot.
Suicide Squad already looked pretty fun according to the trailers, and that’s a big reason for the reshoots. After the positive response to the last trailer, Warner Bros. suggested that director David Ayer should alter the tone a bit to include more of those fun moments. Suicide Squad is scheduled to be released on August 5th.
