As you know, today was April Fool’s Day, and the Warner Bros. marketing team took full advantage to promote Suicide Squad and The Joker. They introduced a special Twitter emoji for the hashtag #JokerWasHere, and director David Ayer dedicated his Twitter account to the Joker as well. The Joker himself, Jared Leto, got in on the fun too, and shared a new video using a new Snapchat filter that Warner Bros. released today.
But here’s where it gets interesting! After a day of fun, the official Suicide Squad Twitter account posted the following message:
Nine days from today would take us to April 10th… the same day as the 2016 MTV Movie Awards. Jared Leto is no stranger to MTV (he’s the lead singer in the band Thirty Seconds to Mars), and I wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up to introduce an exclusive Joker clip or new Suicide Squad trailer.
Update: MTV has confirmed that Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Cara Delevingne will premiere an exclusive, never-before-seen Suicide Squad clip at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 10th!
