10 Cool Things from the Suicide Squad Blitz Trailer

As if setting a trailer to the frenetic music of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody wasn’t fun enough for Suicide Squad fans, the trailer that debuted during Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards had us kicking off our dance shoes and doing the “Ballroom Blitz” by Sweet.  Could a song from the 70’s make a comeback just like Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” from the 60’s did after being attached to the #SadAffleck meme?  Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure…this new trailer had more Batman, more Harley and more fun!  Here are ten cool things you may have missed if you blinked and even if you did see them, may not have understood their significance.  Let’s break it down.

1. Weapons, weapons, weapons…

We see early on in the trailer that the gang all get their weapons of choice.  Harley has her engraved pistol with HQ on it and the words “LOVE” and “HATE”.  Captain Boomerang gets, well, boomerangs.  Killer Croc gets some throwing knives and Deadshot gets his rifle with the words “I am the light” engraved on it.  In the comics, he has a daughter and regrets what his lifestyle has done to her…the path he has taken.  This engraving could be a mixing up of a bible quote- “I am the way and the light”.  He also has a quote on the collar of his shirt.  Of course, he could just be a psycho killer who thinks he’s helping criminals to meet their destiny…at the end of his barrel.

2. The Squad gets their neck implants?

KillerCrocSuicideSquad

Hello Hannibal Lecter!  We see both Harley and Killer Croc get neck injections in the trailer and have to assume it’s the same for the rest of the gang.  The Suicide Squad don’t help Amanda Waller out of the kindness of their own black hearts.  They do it because she has bombs implanted in them that she can detonate if they try anything.  This may be the first time we see them getting tagged with their explosive devices.
