According to Heroic Hollywood’s Umberto Gonzalez, Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns have full creative control over their Batman movie, which Ben Affleck is writing, directing, and starring in. This rumor broke on episode #6 of Heroic Insider.
Full creative control means that producers Zack Snyder and Charles Roven won’t be getting in Ben Affleck’s way, and he’ll be able to tell exactly the Batman story he wants to. Gonzalez says that Johns is serving as an adviser, similar to the way that David Goyer helped Christopher Nolan with his Dark Knight Trilogy.
While nothing is confirmed at this point, it’s not hard to believe that Warner Bros. is giving Affleck a lot of (and possibly even full) creative control. In 2013 he won them an Oscar for “Best Picture” with Argo, which he directed and starred in.
