A lot is unknown about Ben Affleck’s Batman movie, though one rumor says it will take inspiration from “Under the Red Hood” and feature Jason Todd as the villain. A new report from Birth.Movies.Death says that’s not the case, however. Instead, Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns are working to tell the “ultimate” Batman story, which means lots of appearances from your favorite villains! Here’s what their sources had to say:
Many, if not most, members of Batman’s rogue’s gallery will be making appearances in the film. It’s going to be crammed with Bat villains, which means that just about every major bad guy you’ve ever wanted to see in a movie will be in this movie. According to my sources Affleck and Geoff Johns, who has been working with him on the film, want to make the definitive Batman film. They want to tell the ultimate Batman story, and to do so they’re going to bring in all the big guns. They’re going to have a big, sprawling Bat universe already in place.
No word yet on who the main villain would be, but Birth.Movies.Death speculates that this means a lot of the villains will have smaller cameo roles. That makes sense if they really are adding a ton of villains to the story. And with Ben Affleck’s Batman being older and at the end of his career, he would have already met all of his villains already.
