The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition Blu-ray was officially announced today. It features over 30 minutes of extra footage that wasn’t included in the theatrical cut.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cinematographer Larry Fong tweeted out a link to the Ultimate Edition trailer, and then followed it up with an interesting take on the new version of the movie. “If you hated it, you’ll still hate it,” he said.
Those of you who are fans, will dig it. If you hated it, you'll still hate it.

I’m not sure Warner Bros. will be happy with that, but at least Fong is being honest. Many fans who didn’t like the movie were hoping that the Ultimate Edition would fix some of the problems they had, and make it a more enjoyable experience. It doesn’t sound like that’s the case here.
As someone who liked Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I definitely agree with the first part of Fong’s tweet. Judging from the trailer alone, it looks like this version will be even better. More Batman = more enjoyment for me. Ben Affleck stole the show every time he was on the screen.
We’ll all see if the Ultimate Edition changes people’s opinions on the movie when it hits Digital HD on June 28th and Blu-ray on July 19th. You can pre-order it on Amazon now.
