Report: ‘Aquaman’ to shoot in Australia next year

Aquaman will shoot in Australia next year, according to a report from The Daily Telegraph. No specific start date was given, but the site says that pre-production is scheduled to begin there this year before Christmas.

The Daily Telegraph is an Australian website, and the angle they took with this story was the fact that Amber Heard, who co-stars in Aquaman as Mera, will be coming back to the country. The actress got herself in trouble last year with Johnny Depp when they broke Australia’s strict biosecurity laws after failing to declare their two dogs to the Australian Customs Service when they flew into Queensland in a private jet.

Funny how some celebrity controversy can bring us superhero news!

Last week DailyMail reported that some of Aquaman would be filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, the same place that Justice League is currently shooting.

Aquaman is being directed by Australian filmmaker James Wan, and is scheduled for a July 27, 2018 release.
