‘Suicide Squad: The Album’ becomes only soundtrack this year to go Gold

The hits just keep on coming for Suicide Squad. Not only is the movie crushing it at the box office, but the soundtrack has been having a lot of success as well. It was #1 on the Billboard charts last month, and now it reached another big achievement.

According to Kevin Weaver, EVP at Atlantic Records (the label that released the soundtrack), Suicide Squad: The Album has officially been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). A Gold status means that the album has sold over 500,000 copies. It’s the only movie soundtrack released this year to have hit that milestone.

Suicide Squad: The Album contains a healthy mix of new and old songs. Pick it up on Amazon if you haven’t already, and check out the music videos below for all of the singles. There’s lots of footage from the movie, and even a return of Jared Leto’s Joker!
