‘Suicide Squad: Special Edition’ DVD coming in December, says Best Buy

Update: Forget all this, Warner Bros. just officially announced an extended cut of Suicide Squad in a new teaser trailer!

Fans have been anxiously waiting for some DVD and Blu-ray news for Suicide Squad ever since we learned about Warner Bros. taking control over the final cut of the movie, and Jared Leto’s Joker scenes being cut. While I don’t think we’ll get a “Director’s Cut” (David Ayer has said the theatrical version is his cut), a new Best Buy listing suggests we’re still getting something “special”.

A listing for a Suicide Squad: Special Edition DVD has turned up on Best Buy’s website, with a release date of December 6th. With the strong box office run the movie has had this summer, that release date for the DVD/Blu-ray makes sense. The Digital HD version will be available a few weeks earlier in November.

Unfortunately Best Buy’s listing doesn’t provide any details on what’s so special about the “Special Edition”, probably because the listing went up a little early. I’d expect Warner Bros. to officially announce the home video release of Suicide Squad later this month, so stay tuned!
