Kiersey Clemons will reportedly cameo as her ‘The Flash’ character in ‘Justice League’

Yesterday the DC Comics movie world was shaken up when The Flash director Rick Famuyiwa announced he was leaving the project due to creative differences with Warner Bros.. Famuyiwa made a name for himself last year with his independent film Dope, and was planning on working with some of his Dope cast and crew on The Flash.

For example, Famuyiwa cast Dope’s Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, the tough-as-nails journalist and friend of Barry Allen, in The Flash. After yesterday’s news of Famuyiwa’s departure, many fans wondered if Clemons would stay on the project, or if Iris West would be recast when a new director signs on.

According to Variety journalist Justin Kroll, who broke the news of Clemons starring in The Flash, she will appear as her character first in Justice League, which just wrapped up filming last month. For that reason alone, I think it’s very likely she’ll play Iris West in The Flash, even if it’ll be with a new director.

For some reason Kroll didn’t include the news about the Justice League cameo in his original Variety report, but he did tweet out the news over the summer. I think it got missed back then since it wasn’t part of his article, but it should clear things up today for fans wondering if Clemons would still do The Flash without her Dope director.

Update 11/02/16: Kroll tweeted about the news today too, confirming that Clemons shot her Justice League cameo and already signed a deal to reprise her role in The Flash.
