Ezra Miller says what ‘The Flash’ needs from its new director

It’s been exactly one week since The Flash director Rick Famuyiwa announced that he was leaving the project due to creative differences with Warner Bros. Cinemablend caught up with star Ezra Miller over the weekend and asked what he thinks The Flash needs in a replacement director.

“I think that the most important quality is the open heart. I think that The Flash has to be a story that is heartfelt,” Miller said. “Because I think that’s where the lightning really is.”

“Heart” was something that Famuyiwa said he wanted to bring to the movie. In his statement last week he said “I was also excited to work with Ezra Miller, who is a phenomenal young actor. I pitched a version of the film in line with my voice, humor, and heart.”

It’ll be interesting to see what director Warner Bros. brings in next. He or she will be the third person to have the job in under a year if the hire comes before April 2017.
