‘Suicide Squad’ soundtrack scores 5 Grammy nominations

It’s been a great year for Suicide Squad, and I’m talking about both the movie and the soundtrack.

The movie blew everyone’s expectations away and made over $745 million world wide. The soundtrack has produced a bunch of hit singles, and was the only movie soundtrack to go gold this year — meaning it sold over 500,000 copies.

Now Suicide Squad: The Album can add five Grammy nominations to its list of achievements. Here are the categories where it has been nominated:

Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media

  • Suicide Squad (Collector’s Edition)

Best Song Written For Visual Media

  • Heathens
  • Purple Lamborghini

Best Rock Performance

  • “Heathens” by Twenty One Pilots

Best Rock Song

  • “Heathens” by Twenty One Pilots

As you can see from the list above, Suicide Squad was actually nominated twice in the “Best Song Written For Visual Media” category, and will be competing against itself. For a full list of nominees, check out Grammy.com.
