Early buzz for The LEGO Batman Movie indicates that it’s going to be a big hit with critics and the box office, and director Chris McKay already has his sights on his next project.
On Twitter this evening, a fan said that he’d love for McKay to direct a live-action movie in the DC Extended Universe. “It’s a long shot but I’d like to be a part of it somehow,” McKay replied.
The fan followed up and asked if he could start a petition to DC Films co-head Geoff Johns to help make that a reality. McKay politely declined, but said he plans on meeting with Johns and making a pitch for a movie in the DCEU.
The Flash script is currently being rewritten and is in need of a director. McKay is best known for his animated work, but maybe he’d be a good fit there. Would you like to see McKay direct a live-action movie in the DCEU? Let me know in the comments below.
