The rumors were true! In addition to Ocean Master, Black Manta will be a villain in Aquaman. According to The Hollywood Reporter, newcomer Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is in talks for the role.
THR says that an official offer went out yesterday and the parties are now in talks. Assuming Abdul-Mateen II accepts, it looks like we have our Black Manta.
Variety adds that he beat out actors like Moonlight breakout Trevante Rhodes and 24: Legacy star Corey Hawkins.
