
When he was introduced back in 1993, Bane was positioned to be a two-fold threat to Batman: he could match him mentally, and even moreso match him physically. Thus, he became the man who broke the Bat.
Since Knightfall, Bane has had some ups and downs, going from one-note thug to compelling co-lead in Secret Six and back again. For quite some time, it’s felt like nobody knows what to do with the character.
This May, two of his creators return to take him on once more.
Comic Book Resources is reporting an exclusive that writer Chuck Dixon and artist Graham Nolan will return to DC Comics with the 12-part maxiseries Bane: Conquest. The series will “take Bane beyond Gotham” and reunite him with Bird, Trogg, and Zombie, his three cohorts from the Knightfall era.
