Suicide Squad 2 is a priority at Warner Bros., and they just hired someone to write the script. And while Mel Gibson is the studio’s first choice, they do have others in mind as well. Ruben Fleischer, Daniel Espinosa, and Jonathan Levine have been reported previously, and now we can add a new name to that list.
Reporter Jeff Sneider is hearing that Jaume Collet-Serra is also in the mix as a possible Suicide Squad 2 director. He’s done a majority of his movies at Warner Bros., including 2015’s Run All Night starring Liam Neeson.
While Sneider (who has written for Variety and The Wrap) is a reliable reporter, this particular piece of information should be treated strictly as a rumor right now. Sneider broke the news on his “Meet The Movie Press” podcast, which means he hasn’t been able to properly verify the information yet.
