Jessica Chastain is at the top of a lot of fans wishlists for Poison Ivy in Gotham City Sirens, and they’re in luck! Chastain is not opposed to it.
In a new interview with CinemaBlend, Chastain was asked if she’d be interested in playing Poison Ivy in the DC Films universe. Here’s what she had to say:
I’m interested in all things where the characters are strong and dynamic, and not stereotypes or objects. I like female characters that are subjects, not objects. And so, if Poison Ivy happens to be that, sure. Throw my hat in the ring.
So there you have it! If Gotham City Sirens director David Ayer approached Chastain about Poison Ivy, it sounds like she’d be interested. Poison Ivy is not a stereotype or an object, she’d be a strong, powerful main character helping to lead the movie’s story. Gotham City Sirens will also feature Harley Quinn and Catwoman as the other two main characters.
