Variety is reporting that Robert Zemeckis and Matthew Vaughn are currently Warner Bros.’ top choices to direct The Flash.
Update: The Hollywood Reporter added a third name. They say that Spider-Man Trilogy director Sam Raimi is also a strong contender!
Two of these director’s names have come up recently as well. Matthew Vaughn was rumored to be the top choice for Man of Steel 2, while we heard that Robert Zemeckis met with Warner Bros. about The Flash. Now it appears that they’re both fighting for the same job.
No word on when Warner Bros. hopes to get The Flash rolling, but star Ezra Miller will be tied up this summer shooting Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2. Variety says that Joby Harold was brought on to do a page-one rewrite on the script, and has since turned in a draft.
