In the latest Justice League trailer we got a brief look at the Amazons going to battle, but now thanks to a new interview with The Los Angeles Times we know of a major player who’s returning.
Wonder Woman spoilers follow…
We knew that Connie Nielsen was returning as Hippolyta in Justice League thanks to a press release that came out last year, but she told The LA Times that Robin Wright is coming back as well.
The film only briefly touches on the relationship between Queen Hippolyta and Diana. Are we going to see more of that in the future?
Gadot: Of course; the mother and daughter relationship is always a beautiful but complex relationship. I think that there’s a lot more to explore.
Nielsen: And [Wright and I] got to do more in “Justice League” as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well. We can’t say much, but …
Wright: And more of the story, you get some of the history.
That’s a little surprising, since we saw Wright’s character Antiope die in Wonder Woman. But as Wright explains, the scenes in Justice League must be flashbacks to before Wonder Woman took place to give even more history about the Amazons.
