Warner Bros.

Wonder Woman keeps crushing it at the box office, and last night it set another big milestone! With over $609.8 million worldwide, Patty Jenkins now holds record for the highest-grossing live-action film to be directed by a woman. The previous record was held by Phyllida Lloyd, who directed the 2008 musical Mamma Mia!.

That new honor should definitely help Patty Jenkins, who is negotiating with Warner Bros. to return and direct Wonder Woman 2. She is also working on the the sequel’s story with DC Films president Geoff Johns.

Stay tuned tomorrow for an update on Wonder Woman’s box office numbers. It’s expected to get near the $650 million mark.
