David Ayer is at Comic-Con to promote his upcoming Netflix movie, Bright, and IGN caught up with him to ask about his next DC project, Gotham City Sirens. When asked why he picked that movie over a sequel to Suicide Squad, Ayer revealed that it’s because of his daughters.
“It’s a story about three fantastic women who’re trying to find their way in the world, and realize that they have more power together than they do individually,” Ayer said. “I have daughters, and I want to create something that might be able to help them get along in the world a little bit.”
Gotham City Sirens will team up Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. It’s a passion project for Margot Robbie, who will produce and reprise her role as Harley Quinn.
When asked if Harley will have a new look in Gotham City Sirens, Ayer teased: “Let’s put a pin in that. Maybe next Comic-Con. Everybody evolves.”
