Patty Jenkins on her ‘Wonder Woman 2’ pay day and James Cameron’s controversial comments

Warner Bros.

Variety published a big feature on Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins this week. Jenkins talked about the big raise she’s getting to come back to direct Wonder Woman 2, and addressed James Cameron’s controversial comments about Wonder Woman.

“You’re of course aware of the money,” Jenkins told Variety, referencing the reported $7-9 million she’ll be paid for Wonder Woman 2 (in addition to a piece of the box office). “But I’ve never been more aware of a duty than I was in this deal. I was extremely aware that I had to make sure I was being paid what the male equivalent would be.”

Jenkins also addressed director James Cameron’s controversial comments about Wonder Woman. “I actually was not upset at all,” she admitted. “Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. But if you’re going to debate something in a public way, I have to reply that I think it’s incorrect.”
