Collider caught up with Jared Leto, who is promoting his new movie Blade Runner 2049. Leto was asked about Gavin O’Connor directing Suicide Squad 2, and if he was going to play The Joker in that movie or the Joker/Harley Quinn movie next year. It sounds like a decision hasn’t been made yet.
“A lot of moving parts, we’ll see what happens,” Leto replied. “I think Gavin is incredibly talented, he seems to be the perfect director for Suicide Squad 2. I think he’s a really gifted filmmaker and I really love his work.”
Hopefully we see Jared Leto as The Joker again in Suicide Squad 2, and I’m sure Leto would love that as well since he’s a big fan of director Gavin O’Connor. Rumors seem to suggest the Joker/Harley Quinn movie will come after Suicide Squad 2 but as Leto said himself, there are a lot of moving parts and a final decision on that may not have been made yet.
