‘Shazam’ director David F. Sandberg confirms April 2019 release date

Way back in October 2014, Warner Bros. released a slate of DC Comics movies and release dates. Things have shifted around considerably since then, but one movie that appears to have held up is Shazam.

Shazam was given an April 5, 2019 release date back in 2014 and according to director David F. Sandberg, that’s still the plan. “April 2019. It takes a long time to make vfx heavy movies,” Sandberg said on reddit last week, in a reply to a fan asking about the movie’s release date.

Right now Sandberg is deep into pre-production on Shazam. We’re still waiting on casting news, and that should be coming soon since cameras are expected to start rolling by February of next year. Stay tuned to Batman News for all the latest!
