According to The Hollywood Reporter, Asher Angel, star of the Disney Channel’s “Andi Mack” show, will star as Billy Batson alongside Zachary Levi.
In the comics, Batson can transform himself into an adult superhero by simply saying the word “Shazam!”.
Shazam will be directed by David F. Sandberg and is expected to start shooting early next year. It hits theaters in April 2019.
