It was only a matter of time, I suppose.
IGN is reporting that the massively popular Telltale Games Batman series will get a tie-in comic this February. Written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Raffaele Ienco, the digital-first six issue miniseries will detail the events between chapters one and two of the video game.
Speaking with IGN, writer Gage had this to say about the games:
I love the bold choices the Telltale Games folks made in their approach to Batman, by having Bruce Wayne discover his father was part of a criminal conspiracy. I’m excited to contribute to this world and I can’t wait for fans to see Raffaele bring the story to life. He is a great match to the visual style of the game, while adding his unique, hard-hitting take to it.
The games have certainly taken liberties with the Batman mythos, with quite a few controversial changes made to characters, events, and motivations. Gage has some decent work under his belt, though, and the Arkham Knight comic was way better than it needed to be, so here’s hoping for another digital-first hit.
The series will premiere on digital platforms on February 12, 2018, with each installment releasing every other week. The first print issue, which will collect the first two digital chapters, will hit comic shops and retailers on February 21, 2018.
UPDATE: Here’s he full press release from DC Comics.

After the events of season one, Bruce Wayne is working to rebuild the reputation of his family and their company, Wayne Enterprises, while his alter ego, Batman, attempts to create a working relationship between himself and the GCPD. Artist Ienco stated, “I’m thrilled to be making my DC debut drawing such a high-profile character like Batman, as well as working alongside the fantastic Christos Gage and our editor, Jim Chadwick. I can’t wait to share what Gage and I have cooked up for the fans of this series.”
