Young actor Jack Dylan Grazer is jumping from one New Line movie to another. The IT star has been cast in Shazam as Freddy, Billy Batson’s best friend and the only person who knows the truth about Shazam.
In the comics, Batson can transform himself into an adult superhero by simply saying the word “Shazam!”. Billy Batson will be played by Asher Angel and Zachary Levi is Shazam.
Warner Bros. sister company New Line is making Shazam, though it will still be part of the DC Films Universe. It will be directed by David F. Sandberg and is expected to start shooting early next year. Shazam hits theaters in April 2019.
