The Hollywood Reporter did an article about Pinewood Toronto Studios in Canada expanding their facility to make room for all of the big Hollywood movies and TV shows that are filming there, and one of those movies has been confirmed to be Shazam. The DC Comics movie is expected to start shooting by February of next year.
Since production is just a couple of months away, we’ve been getting a lot of casting news lately. Zachary Levi will star as Shazam, Asher Angel is Billy Batson, IT star Jack Dylan Grazer and other young actors will play Batson’s friends. Mark Strong hasn’t been confirmed yet, but is in talks to play the villain Doctor Sivana.
Shazam will hit theaters in April 2019.
