Ben Affleck has one movie left on his Batman contract and has expressed interest in finding a “graceful and cool way” to exit the the role. The latest rumors suggested that he would appear in Flashpoint, however the future of that movie is up in the air after Justice League’s poor performance at the box office.
One movie that’s definitely happening (and just got a new producer this week) is Suicide Squad 2. According to Batman-On-Film, there’s a chance that Affleck’s final time as Batman will be in that movie. Affleck has worked with Suicide Squad 2 director Gavin O’Connor on 2016’s The Accountant, so perhaps the two are looking to work together in the DC universe as well.
BOF doesn’t seem to have a lot of confidence in their source, so take this rumor with a grain of salt for now.
Affleck won’t be starring in Matt Reeves’ Batman movie, as reported by Variety and backed up by the news that Reeves is meeting with potential Batman actors like Jake Gyllenhaal. But what do you think about the possibility of Affleck’s last time as Batman being in Suicide Squad 2? Let me know in the comments below.
