Last year Suicide Squad won an Oscar, and nominations for this year’s 90th Academy Awards were released this morning. However, Wonder Woman and Justice League were nowhere to be found.
Justice League not being nominated for any Oscars probably isn’t a big surprise, but Warner Bros. campaigned hard for Wonder Woman in many of the major categories, including Best Picture and Best Director. The LEGO Batman Movie wasn’t nominated for Animated Feature Film either.
Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in I, Tonya. And Christopher Nolan was finally nominated for Best Director for the first time for Dunkirk. We’ll have to cheer for them when the Oscars air live on Sunday, March 4th.
