This Week in Comics: Batman has aged terribly

Dark Nights: Metal #5 came out this week, and Batman and Superman are still deep in the mess. And as you can see, poor Bruce has been in the mess for a long, long time. We all know he won’t be ancient forever, but for now, the Caped Crusader is super old and doing awkward laps on a perpetual butt-kicking machine. At any rate, the issue was quite fun, with some crowd-pleasing reveals and lots of Wonder Woman being Wonder Woman.

We also got an oversized new spin on the origin of Clayface in Detective Comics’ first Annual, the kickoff to a crossover between Doom Patrol and JLA, and a very good first issue for brand-new hero The Silencer. It was heavier-than-usual for a fifth Wednesday—what books did you read? And if you haven’t already, go check out all of our reviews at the Comics page.
