After covering entertainment for the last 10 years for websites like Variety and The Wrap, journalist Josh L. Dickey is moving on to something new. But before he did, he decided to drop a bomb on Twitter.
According to Dickey, Zack Snyder was fired from Justice League about a year ago. Multiple sources for Collider heard the same thing. The reason? Snyder’s cut of Justice League was “unwatchable”.
Since I’m shifting into DGAF mode, here’s a hot one for ya: Zack Snyder was fired from the DCEU just over 1 year ago. Couldn’t write it ~quite~ that way at the time, but was able to tapdance around it [clumsy/oblique headline not mine] https://t.co/7cht70rCaG

The timing seems a bit off to me. Snyder was still working on the movie on his birthday last March, and then promoted Justice League later that month at Cinemacon. Still, it’s not hard to believe that Snyder and Warner Bros. eventually parted ways last April or May, especially once he was unable to continue working on the movie due to his daughter’s death.
His termination could explain why Snyder didn’t touch the movie at all after Joss Whedon took over, and why as of late last year he hadn’t even seen it.
I believe that Snyder’s next movie, Fountainhead, will be made at Warner Bros, so it’s unlikely we’ll hear him tell the true story of what exactly went down during Justice League. Hopefully one day we hear his side of this rollercoaster of a story.
