Nightwing will face off against a villain for the digital age this May, as Benjamin Percy takes over writing duties on the title. Beginning in issue #44, coming this May, the superstar writer will take Nightwing in a new direction in “The Bleeding Edge.”
Percy, who has received great acclaim with his runs on Green Arrow and Teen Titans, promises that his arc “will lay the groundwork for a centrally important threat to the DCU.” The arc will see a new technological marvel hit the streets of Blüdhaven, allowing citizens to fully immerse themselves in a complete digital world. Naturally, things are not what the seem, as Nightwing’s investigation uncovers some sinister undertones and motivations.
Speaking with DC Comics, Percy says:
The best way to approach NIGHTWING is as a high-octane, adrenaline-fueled mystery and adventure. I’m going to crank up the volume on that world, dose it full of steroids and poison, and dream up a digital nightmare that will ultimately impact the entire DCU.
