Earlier this week, writer/director Joss Whedon dropped out of Batgirl. The reason? “I didn’t really have a story,” he said. Roxane Gay, a New York Times best-selling author who has written Marvel comics before, thinks she has a story.
“Hey DC Comics, I can write your Batgirl movie, no prob,” Gay tweeted. And it didn’t take long for Warner Bros. to reply! Michele Wells, a VP at WB/DC Entertainment, followed up saying “if you’re serious… contact me.” And she provided her email address.
Gay wasn’t kidding.
