All of the Superman scenes that Zack Snyder shot with Henry Cavill for Justice League included him fully shaved. But then Warner Bros. decided they wanted to reshoot most of those Superman scenes. Cavill had already moved on to Mission: Impossible – Fallout and wasn’t allowed to shave, so CGI was used instead. The results weren’t all that great, as you can see from the Justice League screenshot above.
Today, Justice League director Zack Snyder posted a selfie on Vero showing off a big beard he had grown. “Guess I got to shave this thing,” he captioned it. “Or you could just remove it via CGI,” a fan suggested. “We all know that doesn’t work,” Snyder replied, taking a not-so-subtle shot at Justice League.
We still don’t know exactly what went on behind-the-scenes with Justice League, but with rumors that Snyder was fired it’s understandable why he’d be frustrated with how the finished product turned out. It clearly wasn’t the movie that he personally shot in 2016 before Joss Whedon took over the 2017 reshoots.
What do you make of Snyder’s “shade” (as the kids say) towards Justice League? Let me know in the comments below.
