John Campea is a movie pundit who doesn’t break a lot of movie news. But he was one of the first people to say that Ben Affleck wouldn’t star in The Batman and he broke the news that Jake Gyllenhaal met with director Matt Reeves about playing the Dark Knight. So his recent track record is pretty good.
That’s why I’m going to share the latest rumor from Campea, in case it turns out to be true as well. Campea claims to have learned really bad DC Extended Universe news that he knows is “100% true”. Campea doesn’t consider himself a “scoop guy” and didn’t want to reveal what the news is, but he’s confident the story will break eventually. Watch him tease it in the video below around the 12:55 mark:
It’s better to brace ourselves in case he ends up being right again here. As a huge Batman fan, the only bad news I can think of is that Matt Reeves is walking away from The Batman. Warner Bros. hasn’t had the best luck keeping their DC directors around. I hope that’s not it, though. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
Update: According to The Wrap, the bad news that Campea is teasing has nothing to do with Matt Reeves and The Batman.
