File this one under “duh”, but sources tell Heroic Hollywood that The Batman will begin production sometime in 2019.
Late last year The Batman director Matt Reeves said that he finished the story and was just beginning the script. A 2019 start date would give him plenty of time to work on it.
Depending on when The Batman starts production in 2019, it could be released on June 5th, 2020. That’s a release date that Warner Bros. has reserved for a DC movie. Aside from Batman v Superman, Batman movies have been released in the summer.
Hopefully we learn a lot more about The Batman this year. Ben Affleck is not expected to star. Matt Reeves has been meeting with actors to play Batman, most notably Jake Gyllenhaal.
