Joker ‘Suicide Squad’ deleted scene finally explained by David Ayer

Jared Leto wasn’t shy about letting fans know the amount of Joker scenes that were cut from Suicide Squad. One scene was even in the trailers, and showed Joker after his helicopter crash throwing a smoke grenade. There’s been a lot of speculation as to what was going on, but now we have a definitive answer from director David Ayer.

“After Joker dropped [Harley Quinn] from the [helicopter] and crashed, Enchantress made a deal with him,” Ayer said on Twitter. “He was going to take Harley home and be “King of Gotham”. Harley stood up to him and refused to betray her new friends. The Squad turned on him and he escaped.”

Ayer has spoken openly about Suicide Squad in the past year or so. He even admitted that one of his biggest regrets about the movie is not making Jared Leto’s Joker the main villain.
