Andy Serkis is best known for his performance capture roles and has worked closely with The Batman director Matt Reeves on his Planet of the Apes movies. The two have become very close friends over the years, so it’s no surprise that Serkis would want to work with Reeves again on his Batman movie.
Serkis revealed the news in a new interview with JoBlo. Check out the Batman/DC question below.
You worked with Matt Reeves on quite a few of those films and I’m curious-he’s working on THE BATMAN next for WB, is there any interest for you in being a part of that or venturing into the DC universe at all?
“Oh, for sure! I mean, I’d go to the edge of the created universe with Matt [Reeves]. I mean, he’s the most brilliant director. I would work with anything with him again, y’know, I mean, I absolutely adore him and we’re very good friends, close friends, and I think he’s an extraordinary director so for sure.”
Based on the little Reeves has said about The Batman, I get a realistic/Nolan vibe for the direction of the movie. I’d be surprised if there was room for a full CGI character for Serkis to play, but what do you think? Would you like to see Serkis in The Batman? Maybe just as himself in a live-action role? Let me know in the comments below.
