We haven’t heard much about The Batman since director Matt Reeves said he finished the story and was beginning the script late last year. But today, we have an exciting update… a possible villain!
According to Variety reporter Justin Kroll, The Penguin could be the villain in The Batman. He adds that if for whatever reason Reeves makes a change while working on the script, The Penguin could appear as the villain in Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey instead.
Take this with a grain of salt as things are constantly changing in the DCEU but I'm hearing the Penguin is possibly the choice to play the main villain in THE BATMAN. Sources add even if Reeves decide to go another route the studio could then make him the main villain in BOP

Reeves is still working on the script, so that could always change but of the multiple BIRDS OF PREY scripts submitted, one does have the Penguin as the main heavy. Either way, it seems WB wants this character cast in the universe sooner rather then later.

The last time we saw The Penguin as a villain in a Batman movie was in 1992’s Batman Returns, played by Danny DeVito (pictured above).
