A few months ago, DC Comics announced a brand new publishing imprint that will focus on more mature, creator-driven storytelling. Naturally, Batman will be a big part of that, with several new titles revealed as part of the launch. Today, DC have revealed some new release details for a few of the Black Label books, including Batman: Damned and the trade collection of Batman: White Knight.
Batman: Damned, which sees Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo teaming up yet again, will be a three issue, bi-monthly series that launches this September. The first title to bear the imprint name and logo, however, will be the graphic novel collection of Sean Gordon Murphy’s lauded Batman: White Knight, which will hit comic shops on October 9.
Interestingly enough, the imprint will also republish previous DC stories, including Batman: Year One, The Dark Knight III: The Master Race, and Kingdom Come. Not a bad pedigree for the new label, to be sure. No details as of yet on projects like Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Last Knight on Earth, but we’ll share more as we hear it.
