‘Justice League’ VFX reel includes a deleted shot of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

ScanlineVFX was one of the many companies that worked on the visual effects (VFX) on Justice League. Yesterday they released a reel highlighting the work that they did, and it included a deleted shot of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

In the theatrical version, after Wonder Woman dives in and stabs a parademon with her sword, she pulls it out and the scene cuts away. But in the video above, we see an extended version of that scene. Gal Gadot stares at Steppenwolf afterwards and gives a confident, almost cocky smirk as if to say “you don’t know what you’re messing with”. Perhaps Wonder Woman smirking for too long after dealing out violence was deemed “too dark” by Warner Bros.

In all seriousness, with a two hour mandate from Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara every second counts. That’s probably the most likely reason as to why Gal Gadot’s scene was cut a few seconds short.

Do you spot any other extended scenes? Check out the VFX reel above and let me know in the comments below.
