Jeremy Irons to star in HBO’s ‘Watchmen’ series

Lost creator is working on a Watchmen TV series for HBO, and Deadline just announced that Batman v Superman’s Jeremy Irons has been cast in a lead role. Their sources say that he will play an aging and imperious lord of a British manor.

Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard will be joining Irons as part of the cast of Watchmen. The new series will not be an adaptation of the comics, and will instead be an original story set in the world that they created.

No release date has been set, but Watchmen will premiere on HBO.
