Warner Bros. announced a bunch of details about their upcoming digital service DC Universe yesterday. It was full of new information, but there’s one thing that may have been lost in all the noise that I wanted to highlight here: Batman: The Animated Series is coming out in HD for the first time ever!

Only the first two seasons of Batman: The Animated Series are coming to DC Universe for now, but it’s a start. Hopefully the other seasons will follow. We got a taste of the animation style in HD when Batman: Mask of the Phantasm hit Blu-ray last year, but now we’ll get to see the beloved TV series in HD as well.

In addition to Batman: The Animated Series, the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman TV series will be available in HD for the first time as well.

Last year at New York Comic-Con, Warner Bros. announced that Batman: The Animated Series would be coming in HD to Blu-ray in 2018. There haven’t been any details since, and hopefully the show being on DC Universe doesn’t affect those plans.
